BEST CANADIAN BEARD PRODUCTS FOR 2021

Posted by Ben M on

Dear bearded friends and brothers, We are well into 2021, and we wanted to start out a post about the best beard stuff on the Canadian market.

Here is a list of some of the very best beard care products available online in 2021.

A good beard - that is to say, an attractive, well-maintained beard - takes some time and grooming.

You may have to shape, wash, clean brush, shave, dry, style, condition. Then again, you may only need to apply a little balm and give a quick comb.

WALTON WOOD FARM

Walton Wood Farm Beard Balm

One of our favourite Canadian Brands is a little gem called Walton Wood Farm, based out of Peterborough, Ontario.

We recommend using a quality beard balm like this one with no parabens, alcohol or SLS

It’s the only beard balm we know of that uses the “maple bark and wild portage” scent.

We’re not sure what the smell of portage is, nevertheless this is a beautiful product, and we particularly love their iconic cover design.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN

Rocky Mountain Barber Beard Balm

Rocky Mountain Barber is an iconic Canadian beard brand.

Their beard survival kit gives you a straightforward, inexpensive way to help men decide whether beard oil or beard balm or both is what they should be using as they grow their facial hair.

These are well-formulated with beautiful, manly scents.

FIRST ELEMENT: CHERRY TOBACCO

First Element Beard Oil

Here is an impressive Ontario-based producer of grooming and shave products for men.

We love this producer for their scents; they've obviously spent a lot of time making this great-smelling product line

We’re especially fond of their “Cherry Tobacco" scent although they do use fragrance to produce some of their scents.

BAARDEN: A STYLISH PRODUCT LINE FOR FACIAL HAIR

Baarden Beard Oil

Toronto-Based Baarden presents an intriguing variety of eccentric scent mixed that are nonetheless creative and enticing.

Scents like coffee & maple praline, smoked oud, and Moroccan spice are unique scents to have in a grooming repertoire.

Also, their cobalt blue dropper bottle and understated white label project a confident simplicity that we have no choice but to respect.

CHIN WHISKERS: BEST BEARD SAMPLER PACK

Chin Whiskers Beard Oil Bundle

Let's face it: if you're putting essential oil in your facial hair, you're going to have to love the smell.

Beards need to smell good.

From an aromatherapy point of view, men's beards are essentially diffuser kits attached to the skin of your face.

As we will mention in our upcoming essential oils article, the incidental aromatherapy

One of our favourite online beard products is this three-in-one sampler produced by the West-Coast beard brand Chin Whiskers.

It’s only $15, and you get a small bottle of citrus musk, woodsman, and orange cedarwood.

MON BARBU

Mon Barbu Beard Oil

Quebec brand Mon Barbu produces a stylish line of oils.

Their original scent is an ambitious blend of husky cedar and tea tree oils balanced perfectly with gentle lavender to produce an incredible-smelling flagship product.

BURNT WHISKEY

Burnt Whiskey Beard Oil

We love Burnt Whiskey out of Christina Lake, BC, because they have an obvious passion for innovation, novelty and all things beard.

There may not be anything more badass than Burnt Whiskey's signature black skull dropper bottle, (Except, perhaps, for Canadian Redneck Beard Care's bearded skull motif).

This scent, black pepper and cedar, is equally dark, but extremely healthy for beards.

EAST COAST BEARD BROS: BEARD SOAPS

East Coast Beard Bros Beard Soap

We have to give a shout out to a fellow maritime brand, East Coast Beard Bros.

Keep your beard trimmed fresh with these beautiful nautically-inspired products.

We love their beard kits because they come with a beard soap, formulated to retain your beard's moisture.

OTHER PREMIUM BEARD CARE PRODUCTS WE LOVE

Now that we've named many of our favourite fellow Canadian beard brands, we'd like to round out this list with some of the products that will help you shape your beard, and give your face the respectable grooming it deserves.

These are the best grooming gizmos that you can find.

WAHL STAINLESS STEEL BEARD TRIMMER

Wahl 3205 Beard Trimmers

The Wahl 3205 is the best beard trimmer for those who need a little help to shape and tame his mustache and one of the best products for beard maintenance.

Wahl was also the first to make a compact beard trimmer.

We love this trimmer because it only takes an hour and a half to charge fully for six hours of use, and if you haven't charged it, you only need one minute to get it operating.

There's no pinching or pulling, so it feels great on your face.

It's extremely well-made, and may be all you need to keep your hair trimmed and your skin feeling the best it possibly can.

EDUCATED BEARDS: MOUSTACHE WAX

Educated Beards Moustache Wax

A simply formulated moustache wax is all you need to keep your mustache well-styled, and out of the way of your mouth.

Buy a wax with a simple, natural recipe: beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oil may be all you need in a wax.

MON BARBU SAFETY RAZOR

 Mon Barbu Safety Razor

This is a handy beard care tool, especially if you want a tidier look below the cheeks.

We like a safety razor more than a modern handheld razor with replaceable heads because when you shave with a safety razor, there's no buildup between the blades.

Also, it's the best beard razor because you can easily shave close to the skin, and you can easily create a straight line at the beard's edge.

So if you want a tidy, groomed look this razor is the best tool, hands down.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN BARBER BEARD COMB

Rocky Mountain Barber Beard Comb

If you want to grow a long beard, it's best to have a comb.

A quality beard comb should not be the mass-produced 99 cent black comb you can find just about anywhere.

There should be a gap between the comb's teeth of at least a millimeter, and there shouldn't be tight crevices where the teeth join the comb's spine because those will catch your beard hair.

If you don't mind a large comb design, Rocky Mountain Barber's sandalwood comb is a great option.

EDUCATED BEARDS: BOAR HAIR BEARD BRUSH

Educated Beards Boar Hair Brush

Keep your beard looking properly-shaped with a beard brush. This tool is good to tame stray hairs, and keep your facial hair looking tidy.

Make sure to brush your facial hair downward to train the hair in that direction (unless you're going for the crazed madman look of course, then it's best to go upward).

Using the Educated Beards Men's Boar Hair Brush helps keep a clean, trim-looking beard. It stimulates and exfoliates the skin underneath your beard.

It also removes dust and day-to-day particulates from your beard.

EDUCATED BEARDS: JAPANESE STAINLESS STEEL SHEARS

Educated Beards Shears

For beards, a great set of shears are essential for grooming. Use them to trim stray hairs, keep your face hair growing even.

Aim to use a higher-quality facial hair trimmer like our Japanese-made stainless steel shears above.

Buy a higher-quality set of shears like this one so they won't dull quickly, and you won't get the maddening problem of a loose pivot screw.

A QUALITY GROOMING KIT

Educated Beards Beard of Books

Finally, men should look to a grooming kit as one way to get set up for a full daily grooming routine.

Buy a kit that comes with a way to trim hairs, a way to detangle them, and grooming items that contain natural ingredients.

STAY EDUCATED!
