Roger is a 20 year Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, flying Sea King, Labrador, and Griffon
helicopters. He also completed two tours at Joint Rescue Coordination Centres and the Canadian
SARSAT Mission Control Centre. After Roger left the RCAF in 2005, he flew various heavy helicopters for
the offshore oil and gas industry, including duties in the training and checking roles, at various locations
around the world.
Roger joined Transport Canada Civil Aviation in 2014 as an Air Carrier Inspector, providing oversight to a
number of helicopter operators in Atlantic Canada. In 2018, he moved over to Remotely Piloted Aircraft
Systems Centre of Expertise, becoming the “Drone Guy” for TC in Atlantic Region. He “retired” in 2022.
Although not a “big beard” guy, Roger takes grooming seriously, using Educated Beards’ Shave Soap,
Pomade and Beard Balm for that ‘cleans-up pretty good’ look.
Roger and his wife Valerie live in Moncton, NB, and have a grown daughter working as a camera
operator in the film industry.
